The Live from the Underground (LFTU) performance series continues this Thursday, August 4th at 7pm with one of the Upper Valley’s strongest new voices in independent music, Beth Svahn! The driving creative force behind the indie groove/rock band Of Conscious Mind, Beth’s powerful vocals will rock The Underground on Thursday night for both live and livestream audiences alike.
As lead singer of Of Conscious Mind, Beth Svahn has been performing at venues throughout New Hampshire and Vermont since her move to the area in 2008 from Orlando, FL. A self-proclaimed "art school drop-out," she delights in creating noise wherever she travels and moonlights as a visual artist on occasion to pay the bills. With comparisons to Grace Slick and Natalie Merchant, Beth will be pairing her powerful vocals with a blend of both covers and original songs to The Underground and its listening audience.
The first hour of Thursday’s ticketed show will be livestreamed on The Underground - Listening Room page on Facebook and on Bandcamp, and also broadcast on local radio station WCVR (Central Vermont radio) from 7-8pm. The second set will be for live patrons only at the venue housed at 24 Pleasant Street in Randolph, Vermont.
In its 3rd year, the Live from The Underground series features a new format alternating songs and interview segments with LFTU host Jamie Gage, as well as audience questions via our in-house crowd and the Internet beyond. Owner and audio engineer Vincent Freeman holds down the A/V and webstreaming duties, with assistance help from Babs Mills and local interns.
